This cemetery is located on State Hwy 507 between the towns of Tenino and Bucoda. The cemetery originally served only the coal-mining town of Bucoda when it was much larger than Tenino. Bucoda was also the site of the first territorial prison, and folklore has it that there may be an unmarked mass grave of prisoners dating before 1874.
